This music is an exchange of ideas between the musicians. In this book, sometimes the flute will have the lead and sometimes the piano. The music is conversational; thoughts are passed back and forth, and when that happens, the music comes alive. We get lost in this music. Play the beautiful “Hewlett” or the haunting “Separation of Soul and Body,” then turn to “The Song of the Chanter,” and you will be hooked. This is music that comes alive every time you play it.

The book comes with a Play-Along audio files. The piano parts, performed by Andrew Gordon, are on the right channel. The recorded flute sounds on the left channel. This separate-channel format allows you to silence the recorded flute part and play the music with the pianist.
